What is MARCH?

MARCH is an organization dedicated to the hobby of Retro-Computing, that being the recreational use, restoration, and support of old or obsolete computers. In addition, MARCH operates a museum of computing history, spanning the whole gamut from slide rules and unit record equipment to vacuum tube computers to mainframes to minicomputers to the personal computer revolution and everything in-between. MARCH is also the founding chapter of the Vintage Computer Federation.

Where is MARCH?

While our members hail from all across the Mid-Atlantic region, MARCH is based primarily in New Jersey, with its Museum, Workshop, Collection, and Events all held at the Infoage Science and History Center at the historic Camp Evans in Wall Township, New Jersey.

Who is MARCH?

MARCH was founded in 2004 by Evan Koblentz, Bill Degnan, and Andy Meyer. Today, it has hundreds of members, ranging from amateur enthusiasts to seasoned industry veterans -many from Bell Labs, Electronics Associates, IBM, and other local computing institutions - all sharing a common passion for Retro-Computing. MARCH is currently administered by a steering committee, elected by the membership.

When is MARCH?

We operate a number of events, including but not limited to: Repair Workshops, Swap Meets, Hack-a-Thons, Open Houses, and, of course, the Vintage Computer Festival East. Members may get a discount on admission, but all are welcome!

How do I join MARCH?

An official membership process has yet to be hammered out, but we're working on it!

Until then, stop by any of our events, or join our mailing list!

How can I learn more?

We have a wiki where we document restorations, artifact history, etc. here!
